Project Manager – Data Centre

£65-75k + Bonus + Healthcare + Pension + Life insurance + Car allowance
UK | Site-based

A leading critical systems specialist is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its UK project delivery team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager with experience delivering critical system installations across Data Centre sites in the UK. You will take ownership of projects from initial planning and scheduling through to installation, commissioning, customer training, and final handover. The role requires a high level of autonomy, initiative, and flexibility.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and successfully delivering critical system installation projects. You will work closely with customers, sales teams, installation engineers, contractors, and senior management to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within agreed requirements, and profitably.

You will also supervise Installation Engineers and contractors, ensuring that company, client, Health & Safety, Environmental, quality, and security requirements are consistently maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and manage projects from installation through to commissioning and handover
  • Review project scope, contracts, equipment, and customer requirements
  • Liaise with customers, sales teams, engineers, and contractors throughout the project
  • Create and manage project programmes using Microsoft Project or similar
  • Keep customers and stakeholders updated on project progress and any changes
  • Monitor project progress, costs, and profitability
  • Identify and escalate delays, risks, and potential contractual issues
  • Ensure Health & Safety and Environmental requirements are met on site
  • Coordinate installation, commissioning, customer training, and project handover
  • Ensure all project documentation and completion certificates are completed
  • Support accurate and timely customer invoicing
  • Ensure projects comply with company quality, H&S, NACOSS, GDPR, ISO 27001, and relevant local requirements

Requirements

  • 2+ years' Project Management experience in a similar environment
  • Experience managing Installation Engineers, subcontractors, customers, and other stakeholders
  • Good understanding of project planning, scheduling, and delivery
  • Experience using Microsoft Project or similar
  • Experience with Visio and job costing systems
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer management skills
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to changing project requirements
