Project Manager – New-Build Education Project

Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role

Hargreaves Contracting is currently in an exciting period of growth and expansion, and we are looking for an experienced and ambitious Project Manager to join our team.

This is a site-based position responsible for the successful delivery of a £4.5 million new-build school project in Bolton.

The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the project from commencement through to completion, ensuring it is delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the high standards expected by Hargreaves Contracting and our clients.

As the project will be delivered within a live education environment, the role will also require regular day-to-day liaison with the school and wider project stakeholders. Strong communication, organisation and relationship-management skills will therefore be essential.

The Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading the overall delivery of the £4.5m new-build school project.
  • Managing the project from commencement through to successful completion.
  • Coordinating day-to-day site operations and project teams.
  • Maintaining programme, quality and delivery standards throughout the project.
  • Liaising closely with the school within a live education environment.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the project is delivered in accordance with Hargreaves Contracting's standards and expectations.

Essential Experience & Skills

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience successfully leading construction projects from start to finish.
  • Strong construction and project-delivery experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to confidently manage project teams and multiple stakeholders.
  • A proactive, organised and collaborative approach to project delivery.
  • Previous experience delivering new-build schools or projects within the education sector would be highly desirable.

  • SMSTS
  • Temporary Works Coordinator
  • First Aid
  • Valid CSCS Card
