About the Role
We're looking for a Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of large-scale business and technology change initiatives that support the continued growth and evolution of Oxford University Press globally. Working across Academic Technology portfolios, you will take ownership of end-to-end project delivery, managing complex programmes and stand-alone projects that deliver meaningful business outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and delivering strategic change across a diverse international organisation.
As Project Manager, you will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, delivery partners, and subject matter experts to define project scope, establish delivery approaches, and drive projects through to successful completion. You will be responsible for managing governance, risks, issues, dependencies, resources, and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered to agreed timescales, quality standards, and business objectives. You will also help foster a collaborative, solutions-focused approach, bringing clarity and structure to complex and evolving initiatives.
The successful candidate will be a confident and adaptable project professional with excellent stakeholder management skills and a track record of delivering complex change projects. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on outcomes, quality, and continuous improvement. Experience of structured project management methodologies, effective governance practices, and cross-functional collaboration will be essential, alongside the ability to influence, communicate, and build strong relationships at all levels of the organisation.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
About You
- Strong background and understanding of project management and end-to-end delivery models for change initiatives.
- Demonstrable skills and knowledge of successfully implementing technology projects such as upgrades, migrations, and transformation programmes.
- Strong project management background including operating in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of shaping and defining project scopes and embedding a governance structure to achieve the business case outcomes.
- Ability to identify, track, and concisely define internal and external dependencies across portfolios and projects. Accountable for divisional outcomes and work through ambiguity and define portfolio work packages to deliver to quality, cost, and time.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to build collaborative relationships while holding to account and having challenging conversations.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills, track record of developing and mentoring individuals.
- Ability to lead through uncertainty, helping business stakeholders shape demand, assess options, and risks to achieve optimum outcomes.
