The Opportunity
We are currently working with a well-established specialist Civils Contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team in Teesside. The company has a strong pipeline of major civils and infrastructure projects across the North East and is looking for a Project Manager who can take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Project Manager to join a specialist contractor with a strong reputation and long-term workload.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of your projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on programme, to the required quality standards and within budget.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Full project management responsibility from mobilisation through to completion.
- Managing and coordinating site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholders.
- Planning and programming works to ensure projects are delivered on time.
- Managing project budgets, costs and commercial performance.
- Working closely with the commercial and engineering teams.
- Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with health & safety requirements.
- Monitoring progress and providing regular project updates.
- Managing client relationships and attending progress meetings.
- Identifying and managing project risks.
- Ensuring quality standards and specifications are maintained.
- Coordinating resources, plant and materials.
- Managing subcontractor performance and ensuring works are delivered to programme.
- Supporting the resolution of technical and construction issues throughout the project lifecycle.

About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Proven experience working as a Project Manager within civil engineering / groundworks / infrastructure.
- Experience managing projects from start to finish.
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Experience managing site teams and subcontractors.
- A strong understanding of construction health & safety requirements.
- The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver against demanding programmes.
- Relevant civil engineering or construction qualifications.
