Project Manager – Tier 1 Contractor
Location: East Lothian
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Contract: Permanent

Contract Scotland are working in partnership with a leading Tier 1 construction contractor to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Project Manager to join an established and highly regarded contractor, taking responsibility for the successful delivery of significant construction projects across East Lothian and the surrounding areas.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for managing projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Managing projects from inception through to successful completion
- Taking overall responsibility for programme, budget, quality and delivery
- Leading and coordinating site teams, subcontractors and suppliers
- Working closely with clients, consultants and other project stakeholders
- Managing project programmes and ensuring key milestones are achieved
- Monitoring project costs, variations and commercial performance
- Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with health and safety requirements
- Identifying and managing project risks and resolving issues effectively
- Attending and leading progress meetings
- Maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard and in line with contractual requirements

About You
The successful candidate will be an experienced construction professional with a proven track record of successfully managing projects within the building or construction sector.
You Will Ideally Have
- Previous experience working as a Project Manager within the construction industry
- Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor or on large-scale construction projects
- A strong understanding of construction processes and project delivery
- Experience managing programmes, budgets, subcontractors and site teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial and organisational awareness
- A proactive approach to problem-solving
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
- Relevant construction qualifications, with SMSTS and CSCS preferred
