Overview

WPS are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Retrofit team based from our Milton Keynes office (MK15 0DF). This is an excellent opportunity to lead the delivery of SHDF-funded retrofit programmes within occupied social housing, helping clients improve the energy efficiency, sustainability and performance of their housing stock.

We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running from day one. You'll already have experience operating at Project Manager level or above, with a strong understanding of planned works delivery within social housing environments. Retrofit experience is highly desirable, although we would also welcome applications from professionals with a strong background in planned maintenance and refurbishment programmes.

Key Points About the Role

  • Leading the delivery of SHDF and retrofit programmes within social housing.
  • Responsible for programme performance, commercial awareness, quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Managing multiple stakeholders, subcontractors and project teams.
  • Office-based in Milton Keynes with regular travel to projects as required.
  • Opportunity to join a growing sector with significant long-term investment and workload.

Key Duties

As Project Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of retrofit and planned improvement programmes from mobilisation through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with client expectations.

Responsibilities Include

  • Managing the day-to-day delivery of social housing retrofit projects.
  • Coordinating operational teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
  • Ensuring programmes are delivered in line with agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Monitoring project performance, risks and client requirements.
  • Supporting site teams to achieve quality, health & safety and customer service standards.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, residents and internal stakeholders.
  • Managing project reporting, forecasts and programme updates.
  • Driving continuous improvement across project delivery and operational performance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
