Project Manager – Vistry South East Midlands, Sileby, Leicester
Role Overview
In a Nutshell
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team at Vistry South East Midlands (Sileby, Leicester). This role involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing timber frame construction projects from inception through to completion, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, quality, and safety standards.
You will lead a team in a collaborative, positive, and methodical way, with essential knowledge of volume timber frame unit delivery—particularly as it relates to fire safety on large-site operations.
Our current initiative is a greenfield 288-unit development in Leicester, combining:
- Open Market Sale plots
- Pre-sold units for a Housing Association partner
- In-house timber manufacturing sourced from our Leicester facility
We thrive on in-person collaboration but are flexible in supporting hybrid working models. Please highlight any specific needs during the interview.

Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Ensure safety and welfare of all involved parties, adhering to Vistry’s safety policy.
- Lead the project’s successful delivery, maintaining high standards in quality, time, and client relations.
- Foster a culture of continuous safety improvements.
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Manage both internal and external teams,maximising efficiency toward project goals.
- Develop and coach employees, driving team growth through feedback and opportunities.
- Supplier and subcontractor coordination to meet programme and compliance needs.
Process & Reporting
- Lead key stakeholder meetings, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
- Monitor programme timelines to guarantee smooth execution.
- Adhere to Vistry’s on-site processes, identifying improvements.
Commercial Execution
- Manage risks, compliance, and cost optimisation, ensuring clear commercial agreements.
- Integrate commercial considerations into decision-making.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Core Experience
- 5+ years in project management of large timber frame housing developments.
- Direct experience with Honest, efficient timber unit supply and installation.
- Proven track record in health and safety management, particularly fire safety, on large timber-frame sites.
Technical Competencies
- Current SMSTS Certificate (Safety Management for Construction Site Managers).
- Up-to-date knowledge of building legislation and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Asta Powerproject, and Asta Plan.

Soft Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Ability to build consensus, inspire teams, and manage conflicts constructively.
Desirable Certifications (not essential)
- Valid First Aid at Work Certificate.
- NVQ Level 6–7 BTEC Diploma in Building Construction.
- Valid Scaffold Inspection and LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment) certificates.
- A fully compliant CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building) membership (as per group policy).
