Project Manager – Authorised Fund Manager (AFM) to Host Authorised Corporate Director (ACD) Transition
Location: London / Glasgow, UK
Work Model: Hybrid (3 Days per Week)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the transition of an Authorised Fund Manager (AFM) operating model to a Host Authorised Corporate Director (ACD) platform. This strategic transformation requires an individual with strong project delivery capabilities, extensive asset management experience, and a deep understanding of the UK authorised funds regulatory framework.
The successful candidate will manage the end-to-end transition programme, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational continuity, stakeholder alignment, and timely delivery of key milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, governance, and execution of the AFM to Host ACD transition programme.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, dependencies, RAID logs, and status reporting.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across Operations, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Technology, Fund Administration, and external service providers.
- Manage all project phases, including planning, design, implementation, testing, migration, and post-transition support.
- Ensure compliance with UK FCA regulations governing authorised funds and ACD responsibilities.
- Drive operational readiness activities, including process mapping, operating model changes, and business readiness.
- Manage project governance, steering committee updates, and executive-level reporting.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies while ensuring successful delivery within agreed timelines.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless transition with minimal business disruption.
- Support regulatory submissions, documentation, and audit requirements where applicable.
- Ensure change management and communication plans are effectively executed across impacted business areas.

Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of Project Management experience within Asset Management, Investment Management, or Fund Services.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale operational transformation or regulatory change programmes.
- Strong understanding of UK Authorised Funds, Authorised Fund Manager (AFM) operating models, and Authorised Corporate Director (ACD) responsibilities.
- Experience managing complex programmes involving multiple business and technology workstreams.
- Excellent knowledge of project governance, planning, budgeting, RAID management, and reporting.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage senior executives, regulators, and third-party providers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working within FCA-regulated financial services environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with fund platform migrations or operating model transformations.
- Knowledge of FCA regulations relating to UK collective investment schemes.
- Experience working with outsourced service providers and host ACD models.
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
- Experience managing regulatory, legal, and operational change initiatives simultaneously.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Project Management certification such as PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent.
- Agile certification (Scrum Master, AgilePM, SAFe) is advantageous.
- Investment Management Certificate (IMC) or equivalent industry qualification is desirable.

- Successful transition of the AFM's funds and operating model to a Host ACD platform.
- Delivery of the programme within agreed timelines, budget, and governance standards.
- Full regulatory compliance throughout the transition.
- Seamless operational continuity with minimal disruption to clients and fund operations.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and governance reporting.
- Successful completion of operational readiness, migration, and post-implementation support.
Outcome
The successful candidate will ensure the Authorised Fund Manager's funds and operations are successfully transitioned to a Host Authorised Corporate Director (ACD) platform, delivering regulatory compliance, operational stability, and alignment with the organisation's strategic objectives while maintaining high standards of governance and risk management.
