Project Manager – AI Programme
Location: London, UK
Work Mode: Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite
Contract Duration: 9-12 Months, Initially with further extension.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to manage a key workstream within the client's AI Programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering project outcomes while working closely with senior business stakeholders and product-based technology delivery teams.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience delivering complex, high-risk, and interdependent projects, with a strong understanding of financial services and/or regulatory organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver a key workstream within the AI Programme.
- Lead delivery across complex, high-risk, ambiguous, and interdependent projects.
- Work closely with senior business stakeholders and product-based technology delivery teams.
- Exercise sound judgement and autonomy in prioritisation, trade-offs, and escalation.
- Influence and align senior and executive stakeholders.
- Manage delivery risks, issues, and cross-project or portfolio dependencies.
- Prepare clear, concise, and authoritative reporting for senior governance forums.
- Lead and develop team members through coaching, performance management, and people leadership.
- Apply project delivery methodologies and governance frameworks.
- Manage commercial and financial aspects, including budgets, forecasting, and value for money.
- Navigate organisational dynamics and deliver outcomes through influence and collaboration.

Essential Skills & Experience
- 5–7 years of relevant project management experience with substantial specialist expertise.
- Experience working within the financial services and/or regulatory sector.
- Proven experience delivering complex, high-risk, ambiguous, and interdependent projects.
- Strong stakeholder management and executive-level communication skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Experience managing project risks, issues, and cross-project dependencies.
- Strong governance, reporting, and project delivery methodology knowledge.
- People leadership experience, including line management, performance management, and coaching.
- Commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and value-for-money management.
- Strong political and organisational awareness, with the ability to deliver through influence.

Desirable Skills
- Technical expertise in implementing Agentic AI solutions, including technical delivery and associated business change.
- Experience managing technical delivery and change initiatives within an HR department.
- Experience with AI transformation, Workday, or HR technology programmes would be advantageous.
Location & Working Arrangements
- Primary location: Canada Square, London, UK.
- Hybrid working: 3 days per week onsite (50% onsite as specified by the client).
- Candidates based in Leeds, Edinburgh, and Aberdeen may be considered if they can report to the relevant client office.
