Job description

The Joint Asset Management and Engineering Solutions (JAMES) is a mission-critical Defence information system supporting over 40,000 users and millions of equipment records across Defence. As a key enabler of Asset and Engineering Management, JAMES plays a vital role in supporting Whole Fleet Management across the Defence enterprise.

We are looking for a JAMES Project Manager - Change to plan, coordinate and deliver change activities that enable the successful adoption of new business, security, safety and regulatory changes within JAMES. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the evolution of a critical Defence capability, ensuring change is effectively governed, aligned to organisational objectives and delivers measurable benefits.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex information systems change, ensuring technology-enabled initiatives are successfully delivered whilst balancing stakeholder needs, risks and dependencies. You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders to understand requirements, coordinate change activity and specialise in project management supporting the implementation of change requests. Success in the role will depend on your ability to consider the impact of change across people, processes and technology, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making and ensure sustainable adoption.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
