Project Manager – Complex Surveys and Investigations
Location: Devon
Competitive salary + benefits on offer
Due to ongoing successful contracts, we are seeking a dynamic and proactive Project Manager to lead our fast-paced investigative and output concept solution projects.
The successful candidate would play a key role in managing the implementation of innovative and solution-driven investigations in challenging and varying catchments. This involves reviewing extensive and wide-ranging survey data to devise the best and most cost-effective rehabilitation solutions over trenchless and civil engineering-based methods.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day program and reporting of survey teams by liaising with delivery managers.
- Ensure quick response times by reviewing daily outputs from the teams to identify key points and quick wins.
- Ensure cost-effective solutions while maintaining high standards of survey outputs.
- Manage incoming and outgoing datasets for each catchment allocated, ensuring deadlines are met and early warnings are raised when targets are not on track.
- Arrange access, streetworks permitting, purchase orders, and quotation control while maintaining commercial closedown cross-checked with the CCTV and cleansing divisions.
Key Tasks
- Manage and coordinate the effective delivery of multiple CCTV and cleansing projects associated with AMP8 drainage works.
- Build rehabilitation scopes, RAG status of hotspots, gap analysis on data, and understanding of full catchment reviews.
- Produce and maintain a program of works to ensure high productivity and reporting timelines back to the client.
- Understand the process of commercial closedown, quotation generation, and purchase order control.
- Understand various rehabilitation methodologies and think outside of normal processes to generate concept ideas for surface water separation and affordability.
- Have knowledge of streetworks permitting and applications, including traffic management implementation.
- Have a strong knowledge of Health & Safety requirements through project delivery, including carrying out standard site auditing across investigation and construction activities.
- Ensure prompt and timely responses to project KPIs/SLAs and maintain strong communication with clients to provide updates and resolve issues promptly.
- Regular liaison with pre-construction teams to enhance and develop engineering solutions and ensure timely updates and outputs.
- Use software to produce site documentation, close-down documents, workflow productivity reports, and general work management monitoring systems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
