About the Role
Refeyn is scaling its mass photometry platform from a research instrument into a bioprocessing-grade analytical capability. That ambition runs through a growing portfolio of development programmes across instrument, consumables and software, each with its own dependencies, readiness gates and stakeholders.
We are looking for a Project Manager to join the Project Management Office (PMO) and take ownership of programmes within that portfolio, working at the interface of R&D, Operations, Quality and Commercial. You will own delivery end-to-end, ensuring each programme reaches its gates with clear ownership, controlled cost and managed cross-workstream dependencies.
This is a delivery-focused role in a matrix organisation. You will not have direct authority over the functional specialists you coordinate. Your impact comes from structure, accountability and clear communication.
Primary Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end project plans for assigned development programmes, from concept through to launch, with defined stage gates and readiness criteria at each phase.
- Translate strategy into executable workstreams, sequencing delivery against our priority domains and their technical dependencies.
- Drive cross-functional accountability across R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality and Regulatory, and Product Management.
- Manage scope, schedule, budget and risk, maintaining a single source of truth for status, dependencies and critical path. Surface trade-offs early to leadership.
- Coordinate design control activities where applicable, ensuring documentation, verification and validation are planned and on track for a regulated environment.
- Support engagement with external partners and suppliers, including cadence, deliverables and escalation.
- Run effective governance: steering reviews, gate decisions, status reporting and minutes, keeping functional leads and senior stakeholders aligned.
- Identify and remove blockers, anticipating dependency conflicts across workstreams before they hit the critical path.
- Contribute to the development of PMO standards, templates and ways of working, applying them consistently across the portfolio.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Enough technical comfort to support estimates, interrogate risk and hold a credible conversation with R&D specialists.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication: direct, structured and clear, able to brief both bench scientists and senior leadership.
- Fluency with project and portfolio tooling and a disciplined approach to status, risk and dependency tracking.
- Smartsheet experience would be an advantage but is teachable.
