Job Description
As a "Project Manager, Customer Support" at BEUMER your key role and purpose cover the following:
- Overall responsible for planning and execution of modernization and upgrade projects towards customers having their sites and systems running in live operation, where complexity and cost can have large impact on project risk
- Responsible for delivering multiple modernization and upgrade projects concurrently, ensuring successful execution in line with contractual requirements, project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Manage modernization and upgrade projects with values of up to €10M, varying in complexity and duration. Typically oversee multiple projects simultaneously for different customers, ranging from medium to large-scale initiatives in terms of both project value and complexity
- Lead project teams according to BEUMER Group standards (PMI based)
- Lead projects in the best interest of BEUMER Group based on the values and leadership principles of BEUMER
- Support the early involvement in sales phases related to both quality, risk, and cost perspective
- Support and perform the relevant contractual and financial review of the project contract and budget before taking over
- Identify and document the main project objectives and project key milestones
- Prepare the project planning for all phases of the projects
- Communicate the project plan to the project team, typically consisting of mechanical and electrical engineers, control engineers, software, supply chain, installation, commissioning, supervisors, support, and documentation
- Prepare and communicate a project plan to the customer, and make the necessary agreements related to access to site and systems, customer requirements, coordinate time schedule and various activities on-site
- Establish a structured project process following the BEUMER Stage Gate Model as applicable
- Ensure that materials needed to be ordered, especially long lead items, are timely managed
- Coordinate all project activities, resources, and all stakeholders together with the project team to ensure successful completion with scope, schedule, and budget according to the project contact
- Identify and manage the risks, opportunities, and project changes throughout the project lifecycle
- Support contract and claim management being managed, including the needed support from legal and contract management
- Facilitate clear communication with the project team and stakeholders
- Manage project stakeholders, and keep a close and constructive communication with the customer related to information level, relationship, and expectations
- Manage and coordinate the daily project activities, resources, workload, travel and lead all relevant project meetings
- Ensure a clear and transparent plan for delegation of tasks and responsibilities within the project team and relevant stakeholders
- Handle relevant and applicable project reporting to management, including schedule, quality, financial, project progress and customer satisfaction
- Report to PM Lead using the BG internal project report as the tool for overall status and important decisions to be taken
- Manage the financial status and updated project progress report, including cost and revenue for budget, actuals, forecasts and EAC
- Use and follow a structured approach during the project execution according to the BEUMER processes and tools available
- Ensure documentation (project and product related) are kept updated and communicated to the customer and internal stakeholders
- Ensure a proper project closure and transfer to service manager, including relevant stakeholder (e.g., warranty, hotline, documentation)
- Act as a motivating role towards the project team

Qualifications

- Engineering and/or commercial education at bachelor's degree or similar
- 2 years of general project experience within service / upgrade / aftermarket
- 1 year as project manager (or similar leading project role, i.e., technical lead, installation lead or supervisor role) for service / upgrade / aftermarket projects
- Plan to obtain project management certification (PMI, alternatively IPMA level C) within 2 years
- Basic knowledge of project management processes related to stage-gate model
- Plan to perform training in BEUMER Group Stage-Gate model, global PMO processes and standards within 6 months
- Advanced proficiency in English (C1)
- Functional skills:
- Basic business understanding of BEUMER or similar business areas, i.e., airport and logistics
- Fundamental project management leadership skills
