At Sweet Project Construction Limited, (SPCL), we work with the data, defence, and energy sectors. We are a comprehensive design, construction and engineering provider, offering services spanning site acquisition, architecture, and refurbishment to client occupancy. In our world, there are no simple projects, only specialist needs and clever solutions.
We are a general contracting business, drawing on over forty years of specialised industry experience to provide excellent service, sustain long-term partnerships and achieve the highest quality outcome for key clients, whilst maintaining financial commitments.
The Project
The Project is a data centre development comprising extensive enabling and infrastructure works to support the construction of multiple data halls and associated facilities. SPCL is responsible for the design and delivery of below-ground infrastructure, including attenuation ponds, drainage networks, underground utility corridors, and site-wide duct installations.
The works incorporate the installation of HV and MV power infrastructure, data and security ducting systems, chambers, and associated utility interfaces. SPCL is also delivering all foundations and reinforced concrete slabs serving the data centre buildings. The project includes management of design development, consultant appointments, technical coordination, and statutory approvals associated with SPCL's scope. Coordination with utility providers and client teams is a key aspect of the role. In addition to the infrastructure package, SPCL may undertake the design and construction of ancillary buildings supporting the data centre campus. The project demands strong stakeholder management, programme control, and technical oversight to ensure successful delivery of a complex, high-value infrastructure package.
The Role
The Project Manager is accountable for the safe, compliant, profitable and timely delivery of assigned projects. The role is responsible for achieving project objectives across programme, commercial performance, quality, stakeholder management and successful handover whilst ensuring compliance with company governance, contractual obligations and client requirements.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
