About The Role
We're looking for a Project Manager - Defence to join our team based from our Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Ampthill, Bedfordshire.
This role benefits from our 4xFlex working pattern, offering a 4-day working week Monday - Thursday. Monday and Tuesday mandatory onsite with Wednesday and Thursday hybrid working (2 - 4 days onsite depending on business needs).

Responsibilities
- Responsible & Accountable to the Business Segment Lead for the achievement of the financial, performance and delivery goals for the programme.
- Ensuring that the program team is staffed with the skill sets required to meet programme objectives.
- Ensuring that all appropriate functions are represented and performing aligned to their appropriate scope.
- Leading the team in identifying and achieving Mission Success Events.
- Managing execution of and transition between all programme phases, including bid decision, proposal development, negotiations, award, programme startup, programme execution, sustainment, and contract closure.
- Establishing and maintaining a programme management plan and if appropriate a subcontract management plan.
- Establishing and maintaining program plans and schedules.
- Achieving programme performance, cost, schedule, quality, sales, and profit objectives.
- Establishing and maintaining approved technical, cost, schedule, and resource baselines.
- Implementing a Programme Performance Management process, including the application of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
- Ensuring that EVM requirements are flowed down to subcontractors if applicable.
- Implementing a risk and opportunity management plan and process (for programmes and projects exceeding specified thresholds).
- Implementing data management and configuration management processes

Required Skills, Qualifications And Experience

- Proven experience as a Project Manager / Programme Manager
- Demonstrable experience of working on large / complex projects within a matrix organisation
- Defence sector experience preferred (similar large Engineering / Manufacturing experience such as Aerospace, Automotive, Rail considered)
- Frequent interaction with senior leaders alongside a proven record of shaping and influencing financial and strategic/business decision making
- Able to achieve delivery to tight schedules in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong leadership and communication attributes
