Delivery Overview
In 2026 Char.gy expects to continue to be awarded multiple contracts with Local Government organisations and private landlords to deploy Charging Points (CPs) across the UK and ultimately expect to deploy 100,000 CPs by 2031. The Delivery Team is growing to meet this demand and require a Project Manager, with specific experience of delivering new DNO connections, to manage multiple Delivery Projects simultaneously.
Position Overview
The post holder will be empowered to manage the Delivery Projects that contain new DNO connections using the tools provided to achieve the customer and Char.gy goals.
The Project Manager will report to the Programme Manager and will work alongside other Project Managers with peers in the PMO. Managing a defined project from contract award through to handover of CP assets into live service under the management of Char.gy’s Field Services team.
The projects will:
- Deliver – deliver the CPs required under the customer contract to time, cost and quality!
- Manage Suppliers – ensure assigned suppliers are engaged with clear instructions with clarity of expectations
- Project Information – provide accurate planning and ensure information is shared as required to all stakeholders. Managing risks and issues.
- Control Change – working with the PMO and Asset Managers for the customer make sure any baseline scope changes are identified early and managed to agreement with all parties
Key Responsibilities
The Project Manager will supply the Programme Manager with key information about the progress of their Delivery Projects.
- Work with DNO organisations and ICP suppliers to deliver new DNO connected charging points into the Char.gy network
- Contract and budget management. Work with the Programme Manager, PMO, finance team and Asset Managers to manage change ensuring any contractual or budget changes are identified early and communicated
- Delivery information management with simple organisation and absolute clarity of deliverables
- Own the DNO connection lifecycle end to end – site surveys and load assessment, connection applications, acceptance of connection offers within the DNO's validity period, point of connection and design approval, contestable and non-contestable works, through to energisation and metering
- Manage ICP and IDNO partners delivering the contestable works, holding them to programme, cost and DNO-adoptable design and quality standards
- Plan and secure the consents that gate delivery – highway authority permits and street works notices, Section 50 licences, traffic management and landowner approvals – and build the associated lead times into the baseline programme
- Own health, safety and quality on site under CDM 2015, holding installation contractors to approved RAMS and ensuring assets are commissioned and handed over with complete records
- Work across multiple DNO regions, adapting to differing application processes and timescales, and maintain the escalation routes and relationships needed to keep connections moving

Located in the Office (London) at least 3 days per week
Person Specification
Essential
- An outstanding and willing communicator using appropriate written and verbal communications to a varied audience across all Delivery stakeholders
- Has a track record of delivering projects that include gaining new DNO connections, civils and electrical installations
- A project management professional with strong skills using MS Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- A working knowledge of the GB connections landscape – DNO application to energisation, the split between contestable and non-contestable works, ICP and IDNO delivery models, and ENA notification requirements
- Able to sequence and control a high-volume, multi-site rollout – site surveys, design approvals, connection offers, street works permits, installation and energisation running in parallel across many sites
- Strong CDM 2015 and street works awareness, with experience holding installation contractors to safety, quality and reinstatement standards
- Comfortable owning risk in a delivery programme where third-party lead times sit outside your control – proactive escalation, contingency planning and honest forecasting
Desirable
- Worked in a programmes associated to Small Works contracts
- An understanding of working with Local Governments
- Experience working with Salesforce, MS Teams and Sharepoint
- A recognised project management qualification – APM PMQ/PFQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMI PMP or equivalent
- Experience of publicly funded on-street charging schemes (LEVI)
- Experience delivering across more than one DNO region
- Familiarity with CPO back-office systems and the handover of assets into live service and O&M
