At Telent (Part of M Group), we are looking for a Project Manager to support the delivery of highways technology infrastructure projects for National Highways and their Tier-1 suppliers.

This role is AGILE / HYBRID working, seeing a mix of working in an office and home working - flexibility required.

What you’ll do:

  • Scope customer works and collaborate with the estimating team to support accurate project pricing and planning.
  • Coordinate engineering teams, subcontractors and other project stakeholders to ensure site activities are effectively planned and delivered.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including site packs, RAMS, health and safety information, access requirements and project logs.
  • Produce project programmes using MS Project, updating and tracking progress throughout.
  • Manage project plans, risks, issues, actions and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Act as a key point of contact for customers, ensuring clear communication and effective management of project requirements.
  • Support project reporting by providing accurate information for financial reports, spreadsheets, progress updates and key performance indicators.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with Telent and customer quality, environmental, health and safety procedures.

Who you are:

You will be an organised and customer-focused Project Manager with experience coordinating Traffic Technology infrastructure projects. You will be comfortable managing multiple workstreams, bringing together engineering teams and stakeholders, and maintaining accurate project documentation. You will take a proactive approach to managing risks, resolving delivery challenges and ensuring that work is completed safely and to the required standard.

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant experience of delivering projects for National Highways and Local Authority network and/or one of its Tier-1 contractors.
  • Relevant experience of Highways Engineering would be beneficial, including installation of National Highways technologies which consists of Message Signs, CCTV cameras, MIDAS, Traffic Signals / Traffic Signalling, Cable Power & Comms in ducted infrastructure etc.
  • Knowledge and understanding of National Highways practices and standards e.g, MCH1349 / MCX drawings
  • Experience with NEC3 / NEC4 contracts (highly desirable)
  • Experience of coordinating engineering, installation or site-based delivery teams within a project environment (resource coordination).
  • Strong knowledge of project planning, governance, risk management and project reporting.
  • Experience preparing or coordinating project documentation, including RAMS and health and safety information and updating RAID logs.
  • A recognised project management qualification such as APM, PRINCE2 or PMP, or equivalent practical project management experience.

Experience delivering projects through the National Highways COFA framework would be particularly relevant. Applications may also be considered from candidates with suitable project delivery experience gained within fibre, wireless telecoms, electrical engineering or utilities, provided they have a strong understanding of how National Highways operates.

This role is subject to standard BPSS screening and Drugs & Alcohol testing.
