About The Role

Work with the lead Project Manager to support the development and delivery of the rail industry's customer and commercial strategy for UEFA Euro 2028, working collaboratively with industry partners to develop customer-focused propositions, maximise commercial opportunities and ensure a coordinated approach to customer experience, operational readiness and revenue optimisation across the programme.

This a 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential to be extended to July 2028.

Package: This role sits within Band 3B, Zone 1: £46,701-£56,963.

Location: The successful candidate can be based in London (Euston) in accordance with the hybrid working policy.

Candidates should be comfortable with frequent travel to client sites, regional offices, or other business locations as needed. This includes working one day a week from Wembley.

Your Experience And Skills

What you'll be doing:

  • Deliver Euro 2028 projects and workstreams safely to time, cost and quality targets, in line with Network Rail standards, governance requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Provide a professional and effective project management service to the Euro 2028 programme, including project monitoring, reporting and performance management.
  • Support the development of procurement approaches, supply strategies and delivery arrangements required to support Euro 2028 objectives.
  • Contribute to programme planning activities, including the development of integrated project plans, milestones and delivery schedules for Euro 2028.
  • Manage project risks, issues, changes and dependencies, providing timely updates and recommendations to support programme delivery and governance decisions.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment across activities under the post holder's responsibility, including the development of appropriate safety documentation and plans.
  • Undertake Network Rail's CDM responsibilities, where required, in accordance with company processes and standards.
  • Support the development of capability and knowledge across project teams, identifying training and development needs where appropriate.
  • Comply with the Investment Competence Framework and relevant project governance requirements.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships across rail industry partners, stakeholders and cross-functional teams to support the successful delivery of Euro 2028 programme objectives.

What You'll Have

  • Degree or equivalent
  • Relevant successful experience in project management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Detailed knowledge of safety regulations (particularly CDM)
  • Team leader capable of motivating the team
  • Commercial and financial understanding and knowledge
  • Membership of the Association for Project Management or other professional body

We would also like but it isn't crucial to have/to be:

  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt
  • Knowledge of investment processes and procedures
  • Knowledge and understanding of project and contract management
