Job Title: Project Manager – EV Charge Point Operator (Local Authority Rollouts)
Salary
£50,000 – £65,000 DOE + Car or Car Allowance
Location
Hampshire
Job Overview
You know the feeling when a project should be straightforward… until permits slip, wayleaves stall, and five suppliers blame each other. This role is for a Project Manager who enjoys bringing order to that chaos - keeping local authority EV charging schemes moving, protecting the resident experience, and getting charge points live on time.
If you’ve managed on-street works (EV charging, street lighting, telecoms or similar), you’ll recognise the pace, the stakeholders, and the pressure. What you may not have had is the chance to do it within a growing, well-funded, award-winning charge point operator where your work genuinely helps shape the future of on-street charging across the UK.
Why this role
You’ll join a remote-first team during a high-growth phase, delivering EV charge point rollouts for local authorities nationwide. While many organisations are slowing down, our client is scaling - and investing in the people who can keep delivery smooth, compliant, and community-conscious.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

What you’ll do
You’ll manage multiple Local Authority EV charging projects end-to-end, from early coordination through to delivery. Your day-to-day will centre on stakeholder management - working closely with councils, and coordinating civils, electrical, hardware and software suppliers to keep programmes aligned. You’ll ensure wayleaves, permits and street works requirements are in place, anticipate blockers early, and keep everyone accountable to deadlines, safety and quality.
