Project Manager - Marine Operations
Department: Marine Operations
Reporting To: Head of Marine Projects
Direct Reports: Site-Based Personnel
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Location: UK-wide travel required
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of marine projects across the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all project resources to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven project professional with strong leadership, commercial awareness, and stakeholder management skills to play a key role in delivering complex marine and fit-out projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery
- Develop detailed project programmes and ensure all resources are effectively allocated to meet project objectives.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure successful delivery against agreed timescales.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with client specifications, contractual requirements, and quality standards.
- Coordinate and manage project activities to ensure seamless execution from commencement through to completion.
Resource & Operational Management
- Effectively manage project teams, subcontractors, labour, plant, materials, and suppliers.
- Establish robust site administration processes to ensure accurate project documentation and record keeping.
- Ensure all personnel have access to up-to-date project information and work in line with approved plans and procedures.

Financial & Commercial Management
- Develop, monitor, and control project budgets to ensure financial targets are achieved.
- Review Cost Value Reports (CVRs) and project performance data to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiencies.
- Protect the company's contractual position by ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and requirements.
- Contribute to value engineering initiatives to enhance project profitability and client value.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders.
- Provide regular project updates and proactively manage issues to ensure effective communication and timely resolution.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and support future business development.
Leadership & Performance Management
- Set clear objectives, performance expectations, and reporting standards for project teams.
- Lead, mentor, and develop site personnel, promoting accountability and high-performance standards.
- Foster a collaborative and professional working environment across all project stakeholders.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure full implementation of company operational, health & safety, and environmental management procedures.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practice.
- Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Additional Responsibilities
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the role, skills, knowledge, and experience.
Candidate Profile
Essential Requirements

- Proven experience managing construction, fit-out, infrastructure, or marine projects from inception to completion.
- Strong project planning, organisational, and programme management skills.
- Demonstrable leadership experience with the ability to effectively manage multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Commercially astute with strong budget management and cost control experience.
- Proficient in relevant IT systems and project management tools.
- Ability to build and maintain positive client relationships.
- Relevant degree, professional qualification, or equivalent practical experience in project management, construction, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience within the marine, waterfront, or marine fit-out sector.
- Degree qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Trade background supported by significant project management experience.
- CSCS/CSR Manager Card.
- Relevant project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, PMP).
