What Will You Be Doing?
The Project Manager is responsible for delivering projects of moderate complexity. The role independently manages projects throughout the project lifecycle and acts as the primary point of contact for customers, sponsors, and stakeholders. The Project Manager provides leadership to multidisciplinary project teams and supports the development of Associate & Assistant Project Managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and control of high-complexity projects throughout the project lifecycle in accordance with company governance processes.
- Independently manage projects within agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk parameters.
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, delivery plans, and project controls.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting activities.
- Establish and maintain project baselines, forecasts, and performance reporting measures.
- Identify, assess, monitor, and escalate project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies, implementing appropriate mitigation and resolution actions.
- Prepare and present project status reports, dashboards, and governance packs.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, managing communication activities and stakeholder expectations.
- Act as the primary customer contact throughout project delivery.
- Lead project teams and coordinate resources to ensure delivery objectives are achieved.
- Manage project change control activities and ensure impacts are assessed, communicated, and controlled appropriately.
- Manage third-party suppliers and subcontractors to ensure contractual, quality, cost, and schedule commitments are achieved.
- Support major bid and proposal activities through the provision of schedule, cost, risk, and delivery information.
- Facilitate project assurance reviews, governance reviews, and delivery health checks.
- Ensure project documentation is maintained in accordance with company processes.
- Contribute to lessons learned activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support Assistant Project Managers and Associate Project Managers through coaching, guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure project data, reporting, and documentation remain accurate, current, and audit-ready.

Key Skills / Experience
- Proven experience delivering projects through the full project lifecycle.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, risks, and stakeholder relationships.
- Experience working within formal project governance and reporting frameworks.
- Ability to analyse project information, identify trends, and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
- Strong organisational, planning, and coordination skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience within defence, engineering, manufacturing, or technology environments desirable.
- Previous experience managing customer-funded projects desirable.
- APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent desirable.

Additional Details
- Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally when required.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance.
- This is an office-based position and will require the successful candidate to meet the criteria for UK Security Clearance.
