About The Opportunity
An established UK contractor with a strong reputation in the commercial interiors and workplace sector is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its growing fit-out division. Operating nationally, the business delivers high-quality workplace, office, and commercial refurbishment projects for a diverse client base across both public and private sectors.
Based from Birmingham, the successful candidate will oversee multiple projects across the UK, ensuring safe delivery, programme compliance, quality standards, and commercial performance from pre-construction through to handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage commercial fit-out and workplace refurbishment projects nationwide.
- Take full ownership of project delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Develop and manage project programmes, resources, procurement schedules, and delivery strategies.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, design consultants, and client stakeholders.
- Monitor and manage project costs in conjunction with commercial teams.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Chair project meetings and provide regular progress updates to senior management and clients.
- Identify and mitigate project risks whilst driving programme performance.
- Manage project documentation, reporting, and handover processes.
- Maintain strong client relationships, promoting repeat business opportunities.

Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within the fit-out, interiors, refurbishment, or construction sector.
- Demonstrable track record delivering workplace, office, commercial, or CAT A/CAT B fit-out projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project planning, and contract administration.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams across geographically dispersed projects.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and programme delivery.
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.

Desirable
- Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Building, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certification.
- Experience working for a principal contractor delivering fast-paced commercial fit-out schemes.
- Knowledge of NEC and JCT forms of contract.
