Software Implementation Project Manager
📍 Fully Remote (occasional travel)
💰 Salary: Up to £55k + 5.3k car allowance
Profectus is recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to lead complex, client-facing software implementation projects for healthcare organisations across the UK. This is a delivery-focused role requiring confident customer engagement and full ownership from initiation through to go-live and handover.
The opportunity
You will join an established healthcare technology provider delivering business-critical software into NHS and private healthcare environments. The role sits at the centre of the relationship between the customer and internal delivery teams, so you must be comfortable leading conversations, managing expectations and maintaining credibility with senior stakeholders.
This is not an internal IT project role. We are specifically looking for someone who has managed external customer implementations while working for a software vendor, supplier or technology provider. You will run several concurrent projects and remain accountable for delivery throughout the full implementation lifecycle.
What you will do
- Manage the full lifecycle of client software implementations, from initiation and discovery through configuration, deployment, go-live and customer handover.
- Act as the principal client-facing contact, leading project meetings, governance sessions, status reviews and delivery communications.
- Own project plans, milestones, budgets, resources, risks, issues and dependencies.
- Coordinate internal technical and delivery teams alongside customer stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
- Manage expectations, resolve delivery challenges and maintain strong working relationships with demanding or senior stakeholders.
- Provide clear project reporting and ensure decisions, actions and risks are properly documented and followed through.
- Support planned go-live activity and oversee an effective transition into operational support.
- Manage multiple software implementation projects concurrently without losing control of detail or customer experience.

What we are looking for
- At least 3 years' experience managing client-facing software implementation projects across the full project lifecycle.
- Experience gained with a software vendor, software supplier or technology provider is essential.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills and the confidence to lead external stakeholders through complex implementations.
- Proven ownership of project plans, budgets, resources, risks, issues and delivery reporting.
- Experience managing several projects at the same time.
- Working knowledge of structured project management methods, such as PRINCE2, and relevant planning tools.
- A practical understanding of AI tools and evidence of using them professionally to improve processes or outcomes.

Useful but not essential
- Experience implementing software within healthcare, diagnostic, laboratory or clinical environments.
- Previous delivery experience with NHS or private healthcare organisations.
- Knowledge of electronic patient record, order communications, diagnostics or laboratory software projects.
Working arrangements and benefits
- Remote-based role with occasional travel to customer sites.
- 40-hour working week,
- Occasional planned weekend work during go-lives, typically no more than once or twice a month; paid at time and a half, with an additional £250 payment where weekend work exceeds 4 hours.
- Annual performance and salary review.
