Job Title: Project Manager – Water & Wastewater Infrastructure
Location: South East England / site-based / hybrid
Contract Type: [Permanent / Contract]
Role Purpose:
We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, taking schemes from design through construction and commissioning. The successful candidate will manage multi-disciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, electrical) and ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget, in line with client and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of water/wastewater capital projects (treatment works, pumping stations, network upgrades, pipelines) from award through to handover
- Own project programme, budget, and risk registers; report progress against KPIs to client and internal stakeholders
- Coordinate and manage civil, mechanical, electrical (M&E/MEICA) design and construction teams and subcontractors
- Act as primary point of contact for the client on assigned schemes, managing expectations and change control
- Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 regulations, health & safety legislation, and company-specific procedures throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage contract administration under the NEC suite of contracts
- Apply robust project planning, monitoring, and control methodologies throughout delivery
- Chair progress meetings, produce reports, and manage stakeholder communications (client, designers, statutory bodies, local authorities)
- Identify and resolve technical, commercial, and programme risks/issues as they arise
- Support commissioning and handover, ensuring as-built documentation and O&M requirements are met

Essential Experience:
- Proven project management experience in an industrial M&E / MEICA environment
- Experience managing engineering projects, ideally within the water industry (water and/or wastewater process projects)
- Strong understanding of project planning, monitoring, and control methodologies
- Proficiency with project planning tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Primavera P6)
- Sound knowledge of health & safety legislation and company-specific procedures
- Experience working with the NEC suite of contracts
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills

Desirable Experience:
- Previous project delivery for Thames Water and/or South East Water (or other UK water utility AMP frameworks — e.g. Southern Water, Anglian Water, Affinity Water)
- Experience working within a Tier 1/framework contractor environment on regulated water assets
- Familiarity with AMP7/AMP8 investment cycle requirements and utility approval processes
