Mitie is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the National Air Traffic Services (NATS) account, delivering a diverse portfolio of construction, building fabric, mechanical and electrical projects across operationally critical environments.
The role will manage projects throughout the full lifecycle, from concept development and scope definition through to procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. Projects scope may include many disciplines including workplace refurbishments, building fabric repairs, and Mechanical & Electrical installations.
The successful candidate will have a broad construction project management background combined with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services. They must be capable of managing multidisciplinary projects, coordinating specialist contractors and engaging effectively with clients and stakeholders to achieve safe, compliant and successful project delivery.
Main duties:
- Project Delivery: Lead multiple construction, engineering and estate improvement projects from inception to completion, managing scope, programme, budget, resources, risk and quality requirements.
- Technical & M&E Management: Develop project scopes and specifications, review designs and technical proposals, and oversee building fabric, refurbishment, HVAC, ventilation, electrical, lighting, controls, generators, UPS and resilience projects.
- Contractor, Health & Safety Management: Procure and manage contractors, consultants and suppliers, ensuring effective performance, quality control and full compliance with CDM Regulations 2015, RAMS, permits and health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Commercial & Financial Management: Manage project budgets, forecasts, expenditure, procurement, quotations, valuations, change control and final accounts, ensuring strong cost control, governance and value for money.
- Stakeholder, Quality & Handover Management: Coordinate stakeholders, contractors and operational teams, provide progress reporting, oversee testing and commissioning, and ensure successful project handover including O&M manuals, as-built documentation, certification and lessons learned.

- Proven experience delivering construction, building fabric, refurbishment and M&E projects, including managing contractors and specialist engineering suppliers.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, lighting, controls, building services and associated infrastructure, particularly within live or operational environments.
- Excellent project management skills, with experience controlling budgets, programmes, commercial performance, risks, resources and multiple competing projects.
- Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015, construction health and safety and contractor compliance, ideally supported by NEBOSH, IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills, ideally with a Degree/HNC/HND and PRINCE2, APM or PMP, plus experience in critical infrastructure, aviation, defence, utilities or highly regulated environments.
