Job Title: Project Manager - Heritage
Location: Malton
Hours: Min 30hrs p/w
Salary: Depends on level of experience and working hours
Location: Malton Office or hybrid may be considered.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Project Manager with experience in the heritage, cultural, regeneration, or built environment sectors.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working with a variety of clients and stakeholders, is passionate about heritage and community impact, and is ready to take increasing responsibility for the delivery of complex and rewarding projects.
Often using investment from a wider variety of funders, you will support and lead projects through different stages of development and delivery, helping to navigate challenges, manage risks, coordinate project teams, and achieve successful outcomes.
Project Delivery
- Manage day-to-day delivery of heritage, cultural, and community projects.
- Develop and manage project programmes, action plans, progress reports, project management plans, and other project documentation as required.
- Monitor project budgets and expenditure.
- Working with our clients, assist with funding claim processes and reporting.
- Actively manage risk and use early warning systems to discuss with clients.
- Support procurement and contract administration processes.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
- Support governance and decision-making processes.

Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build positive relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and funders.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Act as a key point of contact for project partners.
- Support community engagement and consultation activities where required.
Heritage & Community Focus
- Develop – or have – an understanding of heritage conservation principles and best practice.
- Support projects funded by organisations such as the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Arts Council England, Architectural Heritage Fund, and Historic England.
- Help ensure projects deliver meaningful social, cultural, and community outcomes.
- Contribute to the long-term sustainability of heritage assets and organisations.
Business Development
- Assist with tender submissions and funding applications.
- Support networking and relationship-building activities.
- Contribute ideas and insights that help grow the business and strengthen client relationships.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience within heritage, cultural, regeneration, construction, architecture, or community development environments.
- Understanding of RIBA stages and capital project delivery.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Managing project budgets.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
- Competent in Microsoft Office.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Desirable Skills & Experience
- Knowledge and experience of National Lottery Heritage Fund projects.
- PRINCE2, APM, or equivalent project management qualification.
- Managing complex project budgets with multiple funders.
- Understanding of statutory/planning processes for different historic buildings.
