Bethell Construction Limited

Location: Greater Manchester

Positions Available: 1 Permanent Role

Delivering Infrastructure That Keeps Communities Moving

Bethell Construction is a leading civil engineering and utility services group, delivering complex infrastructure projects across the North West. Due to continued growth within our Highways division, we are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of highways and civil engineering projects across Greater Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to take ownership of projects from inception through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with clients, designers, subcontractors, operational teams, and key stakeholders, you will play a critical role in maintaining Bethell's reputation for excellence whilst driving project performance and customer satisfaction.

The Role

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the overall delivery of highways and civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, programme targets, quality expectations, and company procedures.

You will lead site teams, coordinate resources, manage stakeholder relationships, and oversee all aspects of health and safety, commercial performance, environmental management, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage highways and civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to successful completion.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with client requirements.
  • Lead and promote a positive health, safety, and environmental culture across all project activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Manage project programmes, resources, and operational activities to achieve delivery objectives.
  • Coordinate site teams and subcontractors, ensuring works are completed to specification and required standards.
  • Monitor project costs, variations, and contractual obligations, supporting commercial performance and accurate valuations.
  • Maintain project documentation, technical records, drawings, and reporting requirements.
  • Carry out regular site inspections to ensure quality, compliance, and performance standards are achieved.
  • Ensure timely project handover, including as-built information, O&M manuals, and Health & Safety documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement and support the achievement of zero-defect project delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
