The Vacancy

Fellows are looking for a Project Manager. This is a full time/permanent position. We can consider applications from Birmingham or London.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Providing a full project management service to the Client(s).
  • Managing projects from inception through to completion, including:
    • Preparation of property strategies
    • Capital funding bids
    • Design team procurement
    • Design management and implementation
  • Attending client interviews and presenting to the client, preparing proposals and tender submissions for new business.
  • Managing budgets where required.
  • Ensuring that all projects are managed in accordance with Practice Quality Management system.
  • Setting up and maintaining project files.
  • Establishing document control procedures and utilising proprietary tools such as 4 projects.
  • Collect actuals data and forecasts; Update plans using Microsoft project; Administer or assist the quality review process.
  • Administer or assist with meetings.
  • Assist with the compilation of reports.
  • Contribute expertise in specialist tools and techniques including tailoring recommendations suited to the project’s situation.
  • Maintain the quality register; maintain the configuration item records; maintain any other registers / logs delegated by the project manager.
  • Administer the change control procedure.
  • Prepare the team plan for agreement with the programme manager; produce checkpoint reports as agreed with the programme manager.
  • Plan, monitor and manage the team’s work.
  • Identify and advise the programme manager of any issues and risks associated with a work package.
  • Advise the programme manager of any deviations from the plan and recommend corrective actions and help to prepare any appropriate plans.
  • Provide the programme manager any deliverables that have been completed and approved in line with the approved package requirements.
  • Liaise with any project assurance and project support roles.
  • Ensure that quality activities relating to the project are planned and performed correctly.
  • Ensure that appropriate entries are made in the quality register; Assist in assessing risks and issues.
  • Ensure that all assigned issues are properly reported.

  • Preparing baseline management deliverables.
  • Preparing reports.
  • Maintaining records.
  • Liaise with the supply chain and customer as well as the business and programme management: managing the information flows between the different levels of the project.
  • Production of deliverables, project procedures and project controls and monitoring and reporting on them, advising on deviations from the plan.
  • Implementing the approach to change control; audits and corrective action needed on deliverables.

Supporting the Fellows Directors

In addition to your normal duties, you may occasionally be required to undertake additional work necessary to meet the needs of the business, without additional remuneration.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Candidates will be Qualified or progressing with a degree standard qualification.
  • Desirable Experience of working on construction projects.
  • Desirable if Chartered / Qualified or working towards MRICS, MCIOB, APM.
  • Desirable Prince 2 or Managing Successful Programmes Qualification.
  • Desirable have a CSCS card.
