Delivering Specialist Utility Infrastructure for Industrial & Commercial Clients
Bethell Utilities is a leading provider of utility infrastructure services, delivering high-quality solutions across the industrial, commercial and residential sectors. As our Industrial & Commercial division continues to grow, we are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager with an electrical bias to lead the successful delivery of projects up to 11kV.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused and safety-conscious professional to take ownership of project performance, profitability and delivery. Working closely with design, planning, commercial and operational teams, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, to programme and to the highest quality standards.
The Role
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operational, commercial and safety performance of Industrial & Commercial utility projects. You will oversee project planning, stakeholder engagement, resource management, commercial performance and programme delivery, ensuring excellent service is provided to clients at every stage.
The successful candidate will bring strong leadership capability, electrical utility experience and a proven track record of delivering profitable projects whilst maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, quality and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Industrial & Commercial utility projects from planning through to completion.
- Take full responsibility for project performance, including programme delivery, quality, safety and profitability.
- Lead project teams, supervisors and operatives to ensure efficient project execution.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety reviews, driving continuous improvement.
- Manage customer relationships and maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate closely with design, planning, commercial and operational teams to maximise project performance.
- Monitor project costs, profitability, forecasts and resource allocation.
- Ensure accurate project documentation, as-laid records, reports and site paperwork are completed in a timely manner.
- Support recruitment, training and development initiatives across operational teams.
- Work collaboratively with commercial teams to maximise project value and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
- Promote sustainable working practices, efficient resource utilisation and waste reduction initiatives.

About You
We are looking for an experienced utility sector professional with strong project management skills and an electrical background. You will have a proven ability to lead teams, manage customer expectations and drive successful project outcomes within a fast-paced environment.
You will be highly organised, commercially aware and committed to maintaining exceptional standards of safety, quality and customer service.
Essential Requirements
- HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Construction Management or a related discipline.
- SMSTS (5-Day Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
- First Aid qualification.
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a site supervisory role.
- Experience delivering utility infrastructure projects with an electrical bias.
- Commercial awareness with responsibility for project profitability and performance.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience as a Senior Project Manager or Contracts Manager.
- Experience managing Industrial & Commercial utility projects up to 11kV.
- Knowledge of utility network construction and infrastructure delivery.
