College Office - Health, Education and Public Life

Location: Brighton - Falmer
Salary: £35,608 to £39,906 per annum
Contract Length: 6 months
Closing Date: Sunday 01 November 2026
Reference: CH5086-26-221

About The Role

The College of Health Education and Public Life is seeking an experienced and highly organised Project Manager to lead the implementation of InPlace, a new administrative system that will provide a single approach to managing student placement administration, compliance and related data.

InPlace is intended to replace a number of existing systems and manual processes, reducing administrative duplication, strengthening compliance and providing a more efficient and reliable approach to placement management.

We are therefore looking for a dedicated Project Manager to take the implementation through the next critical stages: data migration, system configuration, testing, go-live and transition into business as usual.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a significant operational change project and make a tangible difference to the way student placements are managed across the College.

About You

You will be an experienced project manager with a proven track record of taking complex projects through to successful and timely completion. You will be highly organised, analytical and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

You will need to be comfortable working across organisational boundaries, bringing together colleagues from academic, professional services, IT and other areas to deliver agreed outcomes. Experience of data migration, systems implementation or business process improvement would be particularly valuable.

You will be able to work independently, identify issues and risks, develop practical solutions and maintain momentum in a complex project environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day project management of the InPlace implementation.
  • Develop and maintain a clear project plan, milestones, dependencies, risks and actions.
  • Lead and coordinate the migration and cleansing of data from multiple legacy systems.
  • Work with stakeholders to establish effective processes, requirements and system configuration.
  • Coordinate system testing, user acceptance testing and resolution of issues.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate project governance and reporting arrangements.
  • Identify, manage and escalate project risks and issues, taking timely action to keep delivery on track.
  • Coordinate activity across academic and professional services teams and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure that project documentation, processes and decisions are appropriately recorded.
  • Support preparation for go-live and coordinate the transition into business as usual.
  • Monitor delivery against agreed objectives, timescales and resources.
  • Develop effective and efficient procedures and systems to support sustainable working practices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
