We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Scotland, managing the successful delivery of ITS projects across urban and interurban schemes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially aware and organised Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership of projects from initial planning through to successful completion, while working closely with customers, internal teams, suppliers and specialist contractors.
What you will do
As Project Manager, you’ll take responsibility for delivering projects on time, within budget and to the required quality standards, ensuring customer expectations and contractual requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.
You’ll coordinate people, resources, materials and subcontractors, while providing clear communication and strong project control from start to finish.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of projects from planning and mobilisation through to completion and handover
- Defining project scope, objectives, milestones, deliverables and risks
- Developing and managing detailed project schedules and work plans
- Managing project budgets, costs and financial performance
- Forecasting and coordinating the resources required to deliver projects successfully
- Managing internal teams, suppliers, subcontractors and third-party consultants
- Preparing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and reviewing subcontractor RAMS and lift plans
- Monitoring project progress, identifying risks and resolving issues before they impact delivery
- Providing regular updates to customers and internal stakeholders
- Managing early warnings, change reports, variations and payment requests where required
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely and in accordance with relevant standards and best practice
- Maintaining effective communication across all project stakeholders
- Identifying opportunities for project growth and improved commercial performance
- Measuring project performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Escalating delivery issues promptly and taking a proactive approach to finding solutions
- Supporting the Regional Operations Manager with regional operational activities where required

Profile
What we are looking for
We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager who is organised, commercially aware and confident managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
You’ll ideally have:
- At least 2 years’ experience managing projects through the full project lifecycle
- Experience managing projects within a comparable technical, infrastructure or engineering environment
- Strong project planning and scheduling skills
- Experience managing project budgets and financial performance
- Good understanding of risk and change management
- Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Good commercial awareness and a focus on project profitability
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- A structured and proactive approach to project delivery
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Experience within Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), highways, infrastructure or technology
- PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ, PMP or an equivalent project management qualification
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience
We’re particularly interested in people who can demonstrate a strong track record of delivering technical projects successfully, balancing customer requirements, commercial objectives, safety, quality and timescales.

The role will involve travel across the region and, on occasion, may require overnight stays. Some flexibility will also be required to meet project deadlines, including occasional night-time or weekend working to monitor progress and support installation teams.
