Role: Project Manager
Location: Horwich, BL6 6JW
Contract: Full-Time Hours / Fixed Term - 12 Months
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

About the Role:
Cumberland Farms are looking for a Project Manager (HR) to lead the delivery of strategic HR, digital, and technology projects across the business. Operating within the IT Project Delivery Framework, you will take full ownership of projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring delivery to agreed scope, timelines, and budget while realising defined business benefits.
You will play a key role in delivering complex HR transformation initiatives, working closely with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to drive change and embed new processes and systems. This role is well suited to an experienced project manager who is confident operating in a structured governance environment and engaging with senior stakeholders across a global organisation.

What you’ll be doing:
- Leading end-to-end delivery of HR and digital projects, ensuring alignment to scope, timelines, budget, and business objectives.
- Applying project governance frameworks, maintaining key artefacts, and managing Stage Gate and steering committee processes.
- Managing project plans, resources, risks, and dependencies to ensure effective and controlled delivery.
- Engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, providing clear updates on progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Driving business readiness, including change management, training, and adoption of new processes and systems.
- Managing third-party vendors and partners to ensure delivery against agreed scope, cost, and quality expectations.
- Ensuring successful transition to business-as-usual, including benefits realisation and post-implementation reviews.

What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience delivering complex HR or digital transformation projects within large organisations.
- Strong understanding of structured project governance frameworks and delivery methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP).
- Experience delivering HR-related programmes such as job architecture, organisation design, or HRIS implementations (e.g. SAP / SuccessFactors).
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior leaders across functions.
- Experience managing cross-functional programmes across HR, IT, and business teams.
- Strong planning, risk management, and problem-solving capability.
- Experience managing third-party vendors and external partners.
- A proactive, organised, and delivery-focused approach within a fast-paced, complex environment.
