We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our growing team, supporting the delivery of a major nuclear infrastructure programme at Sellafield. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the successful delivery of complex projects and work packages within a high-profile programme that plays a vital role in supporting nationally important infrastructure.
Working within a highly regulated environment, you will provide leadership across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme objectives, client expectations, and business performance targets. This role offers excellent opportunities for professional development, career progression, and exposure to major infrastructure delivery.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the successful delivery of projects and work packages from initiation through to completion.
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with safety, quality, programme, cost, and client satisfaction objectives.
- Develop and maintain project delivery strategies, execution plans, and implementation programmes.
- Provide leadership across multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, construction, commercial, planning, project controls, and supply chain functions.
- Manage project risks, opportunities, and change to support successful project outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, project governance requirements, and client standards.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners.
- Drive programme performance and delivery against key milestones.
- Manage commercial performance, including forecasting, early warnings, compensation events, and financial reporting.
- Ensure robust project controls, reporting, assurance, and governance processes are maintained.
- Promote and demonstrate visible leadership in health, safety, environmental, and quality performance.
- Lead project reviews, governance meetings, assurance activities, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Support workforce development, succession planning, and the growth of project team capabilities.
- Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions where required to achieve successful delivery outcomes.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Experience delivering construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrable project management experience within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience leading integrated project teams and managing supply chain partners.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience managing project cost, schedule, risk, and change.
- Experience operating within regulated or high-hazard industries.
- Experience administering NEC contracts and managing commercial performance.
- Experience delivering construction and commissioning activities.
- Experience leading projects through governance, assurance, and stage-gate review processes.
- Knowledge of project governance frameworks and assurance requirements.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Experience using project controls systems and performance monitoring tools.
- Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of:
- Construction programme management and planning processes.
- Risk management and project control methodologies.
- Cost forecasting and financial management principles.
- Quality management systems and assurance processes.
- NEC3 and NEC4 contract administration.
- Change management and compensation event processes.
- Document management and project reporting systems.
- Key performance indicators (KPIs) and project performance measurement techniques.
- Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and project controls.
- Governance, assurance, and compliance processes within major infrastructure projects.
- Degree-qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Membership of APM, CIOB, ICE, or an equivalent professional body is desirable.
- Experience delivering projects within the nuclear sector or other highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of nuclear professionalism standards and regulated site procedures.
- Experience with Earned Value Management and advanced project control systems.
- Experience managing complex infrastructure programmes involving multiple stakeholders and interfaces.
