What if you could do the kind of work the world needs?
At WSP, you can access our global scale, contribute to landmark projects, and connect with the brightest minds in your field to do the best work of your life. You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.
A Little More About Your Role…
In this role, you will be responsible for leading and delivering some of the most challenging and rewarding projects within the WSP Low Carbon Energy business. We are delivering some of the world’s most important projects to support the Net Zero transition, from efficient thermal generation plant to innovative low carbon energy and fuels projects, hydrogen production, and natural gas, CO2 and hydrogen networks development. The Project Delivery team leads those projects at all stages of the project lifecycle where stewardship from early client engagement through to delivery and handover helps to build long-term client relationships. The ability to pick up and manage a portfolio of projects and activities at any stage is therefore a key aspect of the role. This also allows our project managers to grow as well as deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients alongside our engineering and operational teams.
Core Activities Will Include
- Acting as Project Manager on high-profile projects within our portfolio and providing leadership across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Regular and proactive engagement with the Client and other delivery partners to promote an efficient and appropriate approach and progress.
- Ensuring project deliverables meet and exceed client expectations and KPIs in respect of safety, CSR, quality, cost, and schedule.
- Ensuring projects deliver expected operational targets and supporting the delivery of the Energy Transition team’s P&L.
- Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with corporate governance requirements, and liaising with our various operations and commercial teams to deliver best practice.
- Ensuring competent technical and commercial resources are secured for projects.
Our Team
Our team’s expertise covers all Low Carbon generation and conversion technologies including power generation, novel first-of-a-kind concepts, gas networks, and other low or zero carbon technologies. Working together with private developers, power utilities, government bodies, banks, lending agencies, contractors, and OEMs, we safely deliver projects whilst meeting and exceeding client expectations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
