Payroll & Workforce Management at Deloitte is all about solving our clients’ challenges. Joining our team, you will work with a diverse range of clients from large UK employers to global organisations. You will work with client stakeholders from HR and payroll, focusing on how we make the complex simple, supporting your clients across the breadth of payroll and workforce management, including supporting key alliance relationships.
The team support clients across key areas such as end-to-end technology implementation services across HCM, payroll and workforce management through market leading platforms, as well as payroll operational reviews (UK and global), development of payroll strategies (UK and global), vendor and/or system selection and payroll implementation support. Examples of recent projects our Payroll & Workforce Management team have supported include project management of a complex payroll review and development of a technology solution to implement payroll remediation required across a significant population; the implementation of full-suite Dayforce modules for multiple clients; and the implementation of global payroll services across Deloitte and 3rd party vendors.

As a member of our Payroll & Workforce Management team, you will drive and lead teams in the delivery of programmes and projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with colleagues and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines and resource allocation for complex, multi-jurisdictional implementations
- Lead and manage day-to-day project activities for successful delivery.
- Proactively create, own and maintain project planning, proactively managing and communicating upcoming actions and deadlines to relevant project teams in a timely and effective manner.
- Design and management of communication plans, including the preparation of stakeholder reporting and leading key stakeholder communication forums, as well as team level stand ups, workshops, status meetings and other forums.
- Ensures appropriate project governance in place such as tracking notes, accurately documenting discussions, decisions, and actions, and circulating minutes as appropriate.
- Engage effectively with client teams (finance, IT, legal, operations), external advisors and third-party service providers
- Manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring cost-effectiveness providing comprehensive analysis to leadership for review and strategic direction.
- Performing key project management tasks including but not limited to, recording of actions, risks, issues and progress updates, keeping teams and organisations through changes in processes, systems and compliance requirements
- Keep informed of payroll and workforce management technology trends and leading practices around program/project management, contributing to the continuous process improvement
- Work closely with colleagues in other parts of the firm, and other Deloitte offices, to develop and pursue opportunities

Connect to your skills and professional experience
Essential:
- Experience project managing large-scale, global transformation programmes and implementations
- An understanding of payroll, workforce management and/or HR technologies
- Understanding of the flow of payroll, payroll systems and payroll terminology
- Experience working with a blend of onshore/offshore teams
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical problems into actions to be taken
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions
- High level knowledge and understanding of payroll business processes
- Experience of full life cycle advisory projects including scoping, contracting, billing and cash collection
- Experience of working with multiple client stakeholders across industry sectors on a UK and global basis
- Effective prioritisation management and organisational skills, including the ability to lead and manage multiple workstreams and multiple client projects
- Strong team-player and experience of developing and coaching high performance teams across multiple geographies
- Working with 3rd parties, including payroll vendors
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including business report writing, preparation and delivery of presentations, workshop participation and leadership
- Experience in preparing and delivering client proposals, including proactive engagement in seeking and securing new client projects
Desirable:
- Prince2 qualification
- Experience with Dayforce/UKG
- Involvement in business development activity and the production of marketing materials
