Role - Project Manager
Location - Reading, UK (Hybrid)
Type - Fixed Term (6 Months)
Salary - 75K GBP/Annum (Negotiable)
Key responsibilities & accountabilities
Programme Monitoring & Development
- Foster and develop a ‘one team’ ethos, working with stakeholders and vendors to optimise delivery plans, effectiveness and efficiency.
- End-to-end delivery leadership of one or more projects in portfolio in accordance with agreed governance, reporting and operational KPIs.
- Provide programme expertise to key activities and deliverables e.g. business cases, cost and benefit estimates, programme plans, identification and mitigation of delivery risk.
- Ensure that appropriate targets and milestone dates are set for the speed and quality of delivery and manage the lifecycle of activities.
- Manage assigned programmes from approval through design, development, integration, test, deployment and into operations; programmes may not always include technical-related delivery management.
- Support identification and tracking of internal interdependencies within their programme(s) and across others.

Stakeholder Management
- Manage sponsor groups (accurate and timely reporting of status, issues/risks/mitigation actions, resource & financial monitoring).
- Act as an escalation point able to troubleshoot and manage specific supplier issues, supporting when required to ensure standards are maintained.

Essential skills, knowledge, or experience (Inc. professional or technical qualifications)
- Proven experience leading large, strategic programmes with end‑to‑end accountability across design, development, integration, testing, and deployment.
- Strong programme governance expertise, including business case development, risk/issue management, milestone planning and financial/resource oversight.
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes, including senior sponsors, cross‑functional teams, and external partners/suppliers.
- Track record of delivering business outcomes in a multi‑vendor environment, driving alignment, interdependency management and “one team” ways of working.
- Strong problem‑solving capability, able to anticipate, identify and resolve delivery risks with clarity and decisiveness.
- Experience operating within structured portfolio or PMO environments, using reporting, KPIs, and governance frameworks to assure delivery performance.
