Delivering Essential Utility Infrastructure Across the North West

Bethell Utilities is a trusted provider of multi-utility infrastructure services, delivering gas, water, electric solutions for residential and commercial developments across the region. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Multi Utilities) to join our team in Greater Manchester.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and commercially aware professional to take ownership of multiple utility projects, working closely with developers, operational teams, subcontractors and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

The Role

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of multi-utility projects from inception through to completion. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and in compliance with all safety, quality and client requirements.

The successful candidate will manage operational teams and subcontractors, maintain strong relationships with clients and developers, and oversee all aspects of programme delivery, commercial performance and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate multi-utility projects across gas, water and electric networks.
  • Lead all project planning activities, ensuring efficient programming and resource allocation.
  • Maintain regular communication with developers, clients and key stakeholders throughout each project lifecycle.
  • Oversee design handovers, pre-start meetings, utility installations, commissioning activities and final handovers.
  • Ensure all works are delivered safely and in compliance with company policies, industry regulations and legislative requirements.
  • Monitor project costs, commercial performance and profitability.
  • Coordinate operational teams and subcontractors to maximise productivity and programme performance.
  • Maintain accurate project records, documentation, permits and streetworks requirements.
  • Ensure high standards of quality assurance and customer service are consistently achieved.
  • Manage plant, equipment and material requirements efficiently to minimise waste and maximise profitability.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practice across the business.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Multi Utilities professional with strong project management capabilities and the ability to lead operational teams in a fast-paced environment.

You will be a confident communicator, an effective planner and a proactive problem solver with a strong commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience within the Multi Utilities industry.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
  • NRSWA Streetworks Supervisor accreditation.
  • EUSR SHEA accreditation.
  • EUSR SCO (GB) 1, 2 and 5 qualifications.
  • EUSR Safe Control of Mains Connections (Water).
  • EUSR SCMC(W) Senior Competent Person.
  • First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of multi-utility construction and installation practices.
  • Excellent planning, scheduling and coordination skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong commercial awareness with responsibility for project profitability and cost control.
  • Working knowledge of Streetworks requirements, permits and regulatory compliance.
  • Leadership experience managing operational teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong stakeholder and client relationship management skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and project management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems, make decisions and drive project performance.
