About the Role
TEXO Recruitment is delighted to be supporting our client in the recruitment of an experienced Project Manager to join their growing civil engineering and construction team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established Project Manager to take ownership of projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with senior management, site teams, clients, subcontractors, and consultants, you'll play a key role in delivering a range of civil engineering and construction projects while driving operational excellence and maintaining exceptional Health & Safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects through the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction to final handover.
- Develop and maintain detailed project programmes, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and resource requirements, taking proactive action to mitigate risks and delays.
- Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Champion Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with company procedures and relevant legislation.
- Maintain high quality standards throughout each phase of the project, ensuring a defect-free handover.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Chair project, progress, and coordination meetings, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Work closely with commercial teams to monitor project costs, variations, and financial performance.
- Coordinate design information and liaise with design teams to resolve technical queries.
- Ensure materials, plant, and labour resources are available to meet programme requirements.
- Support procurement activities and manage subcontractor performance throughout the project.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to the ongoing development of operational processes.
- Complete all project documentation, reporting, and close-out activities in line with company procedures.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience managing civil engineering or construction projects from inception through to completion.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and programme management abilities.
- Sound commercial awareness and experience working alongside Quantity Surveying and Commercial teams.
- Thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation and construction best practice.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- SMSTS certification.
- CSCS Managers Card.
- First Aid at Work.
- Experience delivering residential or infrastructure projects.
