Reporting to: Lead Operations & PMO

Department: IT & Operations

Location: London (Hybrid) - 2 days in the office

No visa sponsorship with this role

Role Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Operations team and support the delivery of strategic projects, PMO governance and operational improvements across the Group. This is a varied role for someone who is highly organised, delivery-focused and confident working with stakeholders to bring structure, clarity and momentum to project delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple projects and operational initiatives from initiation through to completion, ensuring delivery remains aligned to organisational goals, strategic priorities and agreed objectives.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans covering scope, deliverables, timelines, milestones, resources, dependencies and key delivery activities, taking action where needed to keep projects on track.
  • Maintain clear project governance, including RAID logs, reporting packs, approval trackers, governance records and project documentation to support effective oversight and timely escalation.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of PMO standards, governance frameworks, templates, reporting mechanisms and project controls to strengthen portfolio management.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure project and operational objectives are understood, activity is coordinated effectively, and communication remains clear throughout the project life cycle.
  • Identify, assess and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, changes and decisions, ensuring appropriate records are maintained and key matters are escalated where required.
  • Prepare reports, presentations and project updates for senior stakeholders, supporting informed decision-making, effective governance and delivery confidence.
  • Support operational management activity, including process improvement, documentation, vendor coordination, office management, policy adoption and the roll out of Group procedures and guidelines.

About You:

  • Experience in project management, project coordination or PMO delivery, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure and deliver to agreed deadlines.
  • Strong organisation, planning and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail and a focus on producing accurate, consistent and high-quality work.
  • Confident stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, influence appropriately and work collaboratively across a complex environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information accurately, concisely and professionally through reports, presentations and project updates.
  • Ability to translate project, programme and change requirements into clear, practical documentation, guidance and communication for different audiences.
  • Proactive, flexible and delivery-focused, with the confidence to work independently or as part of a team to turn plans, ideas and strategy into tangible outcomes.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly PowerPoint, Excel and Word; experience using Wrike, Jira or similar project management tools would be advantageous.
  • Experience in insurance, financial services or another regulated environment, together with an understanding of good governance, reporting and management information, would be beneficial.
