Location: Corsham
Working Pattern: Monday–Thursday onsite (4 days per week)
Contract: 12 months initially, with a strong possibility of extension through to September 2028
IR35: Inside IR35
Security Clearance: Active DV clearance required
Day Rate: £575.63 Umbrella

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a high-security government programme based in Corsham.

This is a delivery-focused role with a significant emphasis on developing competition and contract documentation, including Statements of Work and supporting documentation. You will also contribute to the development of an Outline Business Case and play an active role in conducting the subsequent competition.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will lead and manage the project and project team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring delivery against agreed time, cost and quality constraints.
You will play a key role in project governance and stakeholder management, ensuring project outputs are clearly defined, effectively managed and delivered to enable the required benefits to be realised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of projects to achieve agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Manage and lead the project and project team on a day-to-day basis.
  • Establish appropriate project controls, structures and delivery methodologies.
  • Coordinate the development of the Outline Business Case.
  • Develop and manage project plans, milestones and schedules.
  • Track project delivery and budget performance.
  • Manage and schedule resources effectively.
  • Develop and maintain benefits realisation strategies and track benefits against the Business Case.
  • Identify and manage key stakeholders and build effective working relationships.
  • Identify, monitor and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Provide project reporting and support effective governance and decision-making.
  • Support appropriate project assurance activities.
  • Manage and document project changes through appropriate change control processes.
  • Produce high-quality management information to support decision-making.
  • Develop Statements of Work, competition documents and supporting contract documentation.
  • Participate in and support the competition and evaluation process.
  • Work collaboratively across project, commercial and organisational boundaries.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience working as a Project Manager.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of project management methodologies, practices, tools and techniques.
  • Experience in planning, scheduling, project controls, risk and issue management.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience producing and analysing high-quality management information.
  • Experience developing or coordinating an Outline Business Case.
  • Proven experience producing Statement of Work documentation.
  • Experience writing documentation for contracts.
  • Hands-on experience with competition/procurement documentation.
  • Experience participating in or supporting a formal competition process.
  • Government/public-sector project experience.
  • Proficient in MS Excel.
  • Experience using MS Project.
  • Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to analyse information and data to support informed decision-making.

Desirable

  • Previous MOD experience.
  • Experience working within highly governed, complex or security-sensitive programmes.
  • Experience working closely with commercial/procurement teams on major competitions.

Due to the nature of the programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold active DV security clearance with at least 6 months remaining.
  • Be a sole UK national.
  • Be able to undergo STRAP induction.
  • Meet the programme's stringent security requirements regarding foreign connections.

Candidates must also be able to work onsite in Corsham Monday to Thursday. This role operates from fixed onsite terminals and there is no remote working flexibility.

Important: The role is not suitable for candidates with pacemakers or other implanted medical devices that could be affected by the onsite equipment.
