Astute’s Nuclear team are partnering with a leading global nuclear engineering organisation to recruit a Project Manager to support the delivery of projects and work packages at Hinkley Point C.

The Project Manager role comes with a salary of around £64,000 + package and the opportunity to join a growing nuclear business and play a key role in the successful delivery of projects within one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes.

This role does require working on-site at Hinkley Point C 5 days per week, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities and duties of the Project Manager role

Reporting To The Senior Project Manager You Will

  • Lead the planning, execution and successful completion of projects and work packages.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, programmes, schedules, budgets and risk registers.
  • Manage project scope, cost, schedule, risk and change throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure delivery meets contractual, customer, quality, safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead hazard identification and risk assessment activities relevant to project delivery.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, commercial, project controls, QHSE and operations.
  • Manage client, contractor, supplier and wider stakeholder relationships.
  • Support contract management and procurement activities in line with business requirements.
  • Monitor project performance and provide accurate reporting to senior leadership.
  • Identify emerging issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ensure effective project governance, quality assurance and change control.
  • Lead lessons learned and continuous improvement activities to improve future delivery.
  • Support resource planning and forecasting in line with future project requirements.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, compliance and continuous improvement.

Professional Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Proven experience working as a Project Manager, delivering projects or work packages within a complex engineering, nuclear, energy, construction or regulated environment.
  • Degree in Project Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • APM PMQ or equivalent project management qualification.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Demonstrable experience across planning, budgeting, risk and change management.
  • Membership of a recognised professional body such as APM or PMI.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH Managing Safely.
  • Experience working with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and/or ISO 19443.
  • Understanding of Integrated Management Systems and nuclear safety culture.
  • Previous experience within the nuclear industry is highly desirable.

The Project Manager Role Would Suit Someone Who Is

  • Comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • An excellent communicator with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisationally with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proactive and structured with their approach to identifying and resolving project issues.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
