Project Manager

Contract: 3 Months Initial Contract

Location: Remote

Industry: Banking / Financial Services - Consultancy partner

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join one of our leading consultancy partners, supporting a major Core Banking, Payments and Reporting Transformation Project within the financial services sector.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a large-scale banking transformation initiative, managing complex workstreams and ensuring successful delivery against agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take full ownership for the definition, planning, governance, and successful delivery of medium-sized projects or workstreams within a wider programme.

You will provide leadership to project teams, manage project risks and dependencies, oversee change control processes, and ensure alignment with governance frameworks and business objectives. The role also includes significant stakeholder and supplier management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver approved project scope to agreed time, cost, and quality objectives
  • Collaborate with other Project Managers across interconnected workstreams
  • Manage project risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID)
  • Coordinate resource planning and capacity management activities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client and programme stakeholders
  • Lead project governance and ensure adherence to project management standards
  • Manage project change requests through formal change control processes
  • Oversee financial forecasting and budget tracking activities
  • Maintain accurate project reporting and status updates
  • Represent the project at governance and steering committee meetings
  • Escalate issues and risks as required to ensure successful delivery
  • Work closely with third-party suppliers to drive delivery outcomes

Required Experience

  • Proven Experience delivering complex projects within large-scale transformation programmes
  • Strong project governance, planning, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, risks, and dependencies
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational abilities
  • Experience managing external suppliers and delivery partners
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

Desirable

  • Previous Experience within Banking or Financial Services
  • Experience working on Core Banking, Payments, or Reporting programmes
  • Familiarity with structured project management methodologies and governance frameworks
