Project Manager - Engineering & Technology
Hybrid | Permanent | £50K to £55K
We are recruiting an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of multiple technical projects and work packages within a complex engineering and technology environment.
This is a hands-on delivery role with responsibility across scope, schedule, budget, risk, and project performance. It would suit someone who enjoys working closely with technical teams while still maintaining clear ownership of project delivery.
What you will be doing
- Managing multiple technical projects or work packages
- Developing and maintaining project plans and schedules
- Managing milestones, forecasts, and resource requirements
- Controlling delivery against agreed scope, budget, and quality
- Managing project risks, issues, opportunities, and change
- Monitoring project performance and addressing delivery variance
- Producing project reporting and management information
- Coordinating technical teams, customers, and suppliers
- Working with senior stakeholders to resolve delivery issues

What we are looking for
You should have experience personally managing projects or substantial work packages within a technical environment.
Relevant backgrounds could include:
- Defence
- Aerospace
- Aviation
- Engineering
- Technology
You should also be comfortable managing project plans, budgets, risks, and delivery performance rather than working purely in a coordination or support capacity.
Practical experience with Microsoft Project or Project Web App is important. Power BI experience for project reporting or administration would also be useful.

Additional experience that would be useful
- Complex engineering or regulated project environments
- Customer and supplier-facing delivery
- APM, PRINCE2, Agile, or another recognised Project Management qualification
- Engineering, Physical Sciences, or a related technical qualification
- Current UK SC clearance
Current SC clearance is advantageous rather than essential.
Security requirements
Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be British. Dual British nationals may be considered.
Location and working pattern
The role is based in Dorset with a hybrid working pattern. Applicants should be within a realistic commuting distance of Dorset and able to attend the site regularly.
