Company Description

Vayton Construction Ltd delivers residential and commercial refurbishment, fit-out, and specialist construction services across London and the surrounding areas. The company works with homeowners, businesses, property managers, and main contractors, managing complete refurbishments as well as individual trade packages. Services range from home refurbishments, extensions, and loft conversions to commercial fit-outs, structural alterations, and finishing works. Every project is planned around the property, agreed scope, and client priorities, with a strong focus on clear communication, careful planning, and attention to detail. Vayton Construction aims to make the building process straightforward and well organized from initial quotation through to completion.

Role Description

The Project Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in the London Area, United Kingdom. The Project Manager will oversee refurbishment and construction projects from inception to completion, including planning programs of work, coordinating trades and subcontractors, and managing resources to meet agreed timelines and budgets. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing project schedules and quotations, monitoring site progress, conducting inspections to ensure quality and safety standards, and managing logistics such as materials delivery and site access. The role involves maintaining clear communication with clients, design teams, and suppliers, resolving issues, and minimizing disruption to occupied properties. The Project Manager will also support project documentation, risk management, and compliance with relevant regulations and company procedures.

  • Candidates should possess strong Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Candidates should possess Expeditor and Expediting skills to ensure materials, equipment, and services are ordered, tracked, and delivered on time.
  • Candidates should possess Inspection skills to oversee workmanship, quality control, safety standards, and compliance with specifications.
  • Candidates should possess Logistics Management skills to manage site access, deliveries, storage, and sequencing of trades.
  • Proven experience managing residential and/or commercial construction or refurbishment projects in the UK.
  • Solid understanding of construction methods, building regulations, health and safety practices, and contract administration.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and clients.
  • Proficiency in project management and scheduling tools; good IT literacy (e.g., MS Office, project tracking software).
  • Relevant professional qualification or degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
  • Full right to work in the UK and the ability to travel to sites across the London area.
