The Company
Our client is a well-established construction consultancy delivering a diverse range of projects across the retail sector. With a strong reputation for providing high-quality project management services, they work closely with clients to successfully deliver fit-out, refurbishment and capital improvement projects nationwide. Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their team.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of retail projects from initial instruction through to completion. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Typical projects may include:
- Retail fit-outs
- Store refurbishments
- Rollout programmes
- Asset enhancement works
- Occupier alterations
- Planned maintenance and capital works projects
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing projects through all stages of delivery
- Acting as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders
- Preparing and managing project programmes
- Coordinating consultants, contractors and project teams
- Monitoring project costs and budgets
- Identifying and mitigating project risks
- Chairing project meetings and providing regular reports
- Undertaking site visits and inspections
- Managing procurement and tender processes
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements
- Driving projects to successful completion while maintaining excellent client relationships

About You
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience delivering retail construction projects and possess strong stakeholder management skills.
Essential:
- Previous experience managing retail fit-out, refurbishment or construction projects
- Strong project management and organisational abilities
- Experience managing contractors, consultants and client relationships
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commercial awareness and budget management experience
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Consultancy-side project management experience
- Exposure to national retail rollout programmes
- Knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes
- Formal project management qualifications are advantageous but not essential
