PROJECT MANAGER | MERIDIAN ONE
Reading, Berkshire | Full-time | Office based
Help bring a major UK data centre development to life.
MERIDIAN ONE is hiring a hands-on Project Manager for a planned 100 MW data centre campus in Hickstead, West Sussex, with an anticipated development programme of approximately £1 billion.
Working directly with Yassin El Naggar and the project leadership, you will connect the people delivering the project: technical consultants, equipment vendors, contractors, utilities and public sector stakeholders. You will keep the detail under control, turn meetings into action and drive progress across every workstream.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This role builds on our existing project coordination brief and expands it into vendor, procurement and delivery coordination. The campus is in development, so your initial focus will include planning, design coordination, supplier engagement and delivery preparation.
Your base is our Reading office at Enterprise House, 95 London Street, with project site visits and external meetings as required.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Coordinate technical consultants across architecture, planning, heritage, landscape, highways, ecology, acoustics, drainage, sustainability and engineering.
- Manage day-to-day vendor relationships across power, electrical distribution, cooling, generators, UPS, IT infrastructure and construction packages.
- Maintain the integrated programme, action tracker, decision log, risk register and procurement schedule; chase commitments and escalate delays early.
- Organise meetings, prepare agendas, record decisions and ensure every action has an owner and deadline.
- Support RFQs and tenders; compare scope, pricing, exclusions and lead times consistently and coordinate technical reviews by the relevant specialists.
- Track interfaces between suppliers and consultants so design gaps, clashes and dependencies are resolved.
- Support engagement with Mid Sussex District Council, statutory consultees, UK Power Networks and community stakeholders, including correspondence and follow-up actions.
- Maintain document control and check submissions for consistency before leadership approval.
- Track consultant fees, supplier commitments, invoices and budgets with the finance team.
- Produce concise weekly reports showing progress, risks, open decisions and next steps.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Relevant project coordination or project management experience in infrastructure, construction, engineering, property development or data centres.
- A strong track record of coordinating multiple vendors or consultants and following work through to completion.
- Excellent organisation, written English and professional stakeholder communication.
- Confidence working with technical specialists and senior decision-makers.
- Commercial awareness, sound judgement and discretion.
- Practical proficiency with project programmes, Microsoft Office, Teams and structured document management.
- Ability to work from our Reading office and the right to work in the UK.

Data centre or mission-critical infrastructure experience, familiarity with UK planning or grid connections, and a relevant project management qualification are valuable advantages.
