We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.
CGI is a leading provider of ground segment software for the world's most advanced telecommunications, weather and science satellites. We are on the lookout for a Project Manager to join our long history of developing and supporting the ground software to control these spacecraft, as well as a range of projects and initiatives to develop applications of satellite communications.
Due to the secure nature of the programme, current SC clearance, or eligibility to go through this clearance, is preferred. This is a permanent, hybrid role based out of our Bristol office, with an additional few days per month at other CGI locations, such as Leatherhead and London, to meet with customers and stakeholders. Some short trips to Europe may also be required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your future duties and responsibilities
We are looking for a project manager to lead a range of initiatives to position CGI to support the next generation of ESA missions and to develop cutting edge solutions for customers in the space and telecommunications industries.
Many of CGI's projects involve working directly with ESA and commercial satellite operators or using SatCom to provide essential links to rail and aviation users. This is an opportunity to get involved in developing the next generation of the world's spacecraft control and communications networks using technologies like software defined networks and AI.
The project manager will be responsible for delivering their projects to an agreed baseline, while taking full responsibility for project finances, leading the project teams, reporting, schedule and risks. This will require direct interaction with the client, end users and partner organisations, so presentational and interpersonal skills are important.
As well as managing project teams, the candidate will also take a hands on role in tasks such as project related business development, proposal writing, user requirements gathering, documentation, client presentations, testing and acceptance. As such it is important to have excellent communication skills and a high degree of technical rigour.
Essential

- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead projects independently while escalating risks and issues to internal management where appropriate.
- Excellent reporting, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to both internal and external audiences.
- Demonstrable track record of successfully delivering projects, including proactive risk, issue, dependency, and change management.
- Excellent client facing, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with demanding clients and senior stakeholders.
- Experience managing resources across multiple concurrent projects, balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Highly proficient in project financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and delivering projects to agreed client timelines and commercial objectives.
- Experience preparing proposals, supporting business development activities, and securing project extensions or follow on work.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery.
