Project Manager - Siemens Smart Buildings & Sustainability
Location: Home-based with travel to customer sites. Our current projects are primarily located in Chester and Bristol, so candidates based in the North West or South West of England will be particularly well positioned for the role.
At Siemens Smart Infrastructure, we're helping customers create smarter, more sustainable buildings through innovative technologies, digitalisation, and decarbonisation solutions. As we continue to support the UK's journey to net zero, we're looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex building transformation projects that reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and enhance building performance.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of high-impact projects, lead teams on site, and help shape the future of the built environment.
The Role
As Project Manager, you'll take responsibility for delivering a diverse portfolio of building decarbonisation and energy transformation projects across the UK.
Working closely with customers, subcontractors, consultants, and Siemens teams, you'll lead projects that integrate technologies such as heat pumps, solar PV, EV charging infrastructure, Building Management Systems (BMS), and digital services that help customers achieve their sustainability goals. You'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while creating strong relationships with customers and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Please note: this role requires candidates to have current and permanent right to work in the UK. We are unable to support visa applications for this position.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the safe and successful delivery of sustainability, energy, and building transformation projects.
- Managing on-site activities from mobilisation through to commissioning and handover.
- Coordinating internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.
- Overseeing the installation and integration of technologies including air and ground source heat pumps, solar PV, EV charging infrastructure, and Building Management Systems.
- Managing project budgets, schedules, resources, risks, and commercial performance.
- Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for customers and key stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Providing regular progress updates and ensuring project objectives and milestones are achieved.
- Supporting the successful deployment of digital solutions and services that optimise building performance and energy efficiency.
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence on site.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
