Project Manager, Sports (Stadium and Venue Design)

About the Practice

A leading international architecture and design practice is expanding its Sports + Entertainment team, which designs stadiums, sports venues, and other large-scale public assembly buildings. Sports and entertainment experience is not essential, although an interest in sport would be useful.

The Role

You will join the project leadership team alongside the Project Architect and Project Designer, sharing accountability for client satisfaction, design quality, delivery, and project profitability. As an architectural project manager, you will manage one or more stadium and venue projects through every phase to completion, accountable for financial performance and team communication, and directing the team and consultants so that work is delivered as planned, on budget, on programme, and in line with the design intent.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage one or more projects through all phases, from inception to completion, including the construction phase.
• Plan, organise, and run the project, with clear ongoing communication through team meetings, minutes, and updates.
• Own project budgets, fees, programme, and resourcing, including change notices and cost tracking.
• Maintain client relations throughout the project, keeping clients informed of progress and resolving critical issues.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, sub-consultants, and other disciplines, including construction management input.
• Support senior leadership in developing project scope, fee proposals, and consultant contracts, and in negotiating fees and contracts.
• Help prepare and deliver project and client presentations.
• Ensure budgets provide for quality management through the life of the project.
• Identify new opportunities while developing existing client relationships, and support marketing submissions.
• Coach and mentor team members, and help define project staffing requirements.
