Why The Works?

We don’t just sell products. We inspire reading, learning, creativity and play. The Works. It literally means everything. And whatever your story or background, we’re all about unlocking imagination and making creativity accessible to everyone. Whether you’re engaging with customers on the frontline or supporting our colleagues behind the scenes, your impact can be profound and far-reaching. This is more than toys and books and art supplies. This is about inspiring people to read, learn, create and play. So, with the right passion, it all starts with you.

Become a Strategic Delivery Project Manager

Working hand in hand with teams across the organisation, you'll bring people together around shared goals, helping to coordinate strategic initiatives, projects and business priorities that support our strategy and drive positive change.

This role acts as the central point of project oversight and coordination across a portfolio of strategic initiatives, ensuring projects remain aligned to business objectives, delivery commitments and business priorities. The Strategic Delivery Project Manager works closely with project sponsors, subject matter experts (SMEs), business leaders and project leads to support successful delivery, manage interdependencies, identify risks, and maintain momentum across the wider transformation agenda.

The role champions a transformation mindset, promotes effective project governance, and supports the embedding of sustainable change into business-as-usual (BAU) operations.

Your Mission

Strategic Delivery & Coordination

  • Coordinate and maintain delivery plans across multiple strategic initiatives.
  • Support project sponsors, SMEs and project managers in delivering agreed outcomes within defined timescales.
  • Ensure projects remain aligned to organisational strategic priorities and business objectives.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to manage dependencies, priorities and resource requirements.
  • Track key milestones, deliverables and dependencies across strategic projects and business initiatives.
  • Identify, monitor and proactively escalate risks, issues and dependencies that may impact successful delivery.
  • Support the successful adoption and embedding of change into BAU operations.
  • Lead lessons-learned activities and promote continuous improvement across projects and initiatives.
  • Support project governance, prioritisation and reporting activities, ensuring stakeholders have clear visibility of progress, risks and opportunities.

Governance & Reporting

  • Produce clear, concise reporting and dashboards for senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Monitor project outcomes and support teams in measuring the value delivered.
  • Work closely with our finance team to support financial tracking, delivery reporting and progress reviews where required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date reporting across strategic projects and business initiative.
  • Ensure agreed delivery and governance processes are consistently applied across projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
